Visited a friend’s home over the weekend to see the kitchen reno. He did a lot of the work but the cabinets & counters were built for him. Counter has an arborite top but the front edge has been built up with Corian (or a similar material). Claim is that it eliminates the most likely to chip part of a countertop.
Not a pro myself so I don’t really keep current on the what’s new in renovations. Just curious has anyone had any experience with this?
Does it stand up as well as it has been “sold”?

Do you mean to say he has an Avonite countertop? If so, a built-up edge is manufacturer-approved and should be under warranty.

Don't think so. I realized from your post that Arborite in Canada = Formica is USA.
