you got two choices..neither is very good. One..remove existing outside corners and cap the raw alum edge with "J" channel and add wood. not hardly possible being as the OSC is nailed up before the siding.. a real PITA. Option two..cover existing with trim..ugly as hell and basically pointless..
I f I was you, I would rather reside the place and do it with better performing siding and trim..
so , leave it alone or rip it ALL off.

Yeah, I was going to say that step 1 would be to remove the aluminum siding.
You could try to place the corners over the siding, but you'd create a real shadow box that would destroy much of the effect you were after, plus you'd create a great place for wasps to live.
O.S. corners on aluminum siding are usuallu composed of individual pieces the same size as each lap width of the siding. Normally, only 1 or 2 siding nails are nailed in the top, and the bottom of the corner interlocks with the piece below it. Using a crow bar, you can pop these corner pieces off fairly easy.
after removal, you could install wood lath or furring equal to the thickness of the siding. Then nail overtop the lath, a a 1x trim piece. This trim would overhang the edge of the abutting siding so as to act as a "channel" for the alum. siding to fit into...much like a vinyl siding corner .
Truthfully though, I agree with the others that I would rather tear off all siding and reside if given the choice. You could even blow in insulation into your stud cavities from the exterior side ( after first tearing off the aluminum) and then reside and no one will notice; but for a few extra bucks, you gained a lot more than just new siding. Also, you will get a few hundred bucks if you turn in your aluminum to a scrap dealer. The money you make on the scrap should almost cover the cost of the insulation.
As for wood trim around aluminum windows...usually the aluminum is butted into a fairly large aluminum "j" type channel. This would have to be removed and will only cause problems. When removing aluminum in just certain areas and trying to compensate with wood, chances are very good that you will be letting moisture find ways to penetrate behind your siding. Also the comment about wasps is very true...they love to nest in "open" areas like this.
Much better to re-think whole situation and maybe plan a different attack on sprucing up the house.

Rip off ALL the aluminum, fold it up, sell it to a metal salvage company in the industrial section of your town.
Install wood corners and wood shingles or clapboard
Be happier in the end

Man I hate aluminum siding. Waste of good beer cans, you ask me. I go to check out a job and see aluminum waiting to slice me up, I find something else to do, pronto.
Have I told you how much I hate aluminum siding?
Yuck.
