The BS detector alarms are going off – reminds me of the fly-by-nights who will “restore” your wood shingles (while walking all over them & cracking them!).
Oh yea, Franchise Opportunity!!

Maybe I wasn't clear enough with the question. My nature is to be skeptical of these kinds of things, but hey, if it's good stuff I'm definately interested!

I don't know anything about those people or there process.
But the concept is not unknow.
There is an franchise called Kitchen TuneUp that does similar for kitchen cabinets. I have heard the local one advertising for maybe 10 years.
And if you look in the paint sections at the home improvement stores you will find kits to renew floors.
Here is one from Varathane.

An oldtimer said something to me once about cleaning up the look of an old varnished floor.
Something to the effect of common solvents wiped on and off in processed steps but I recall no specifics now. Like maybe a diluted laquer thinner let set for a measured time maybe?
How you ever heard of such?

I have heard of using mineral spirits and murphy's oil soap to clean up years of gunk from finished wood. Now this place recommends using either murphy's or a MS, linseed oil mixture.http://alsnetbiz.com/homeimprovement/refinish.html And there it should "work" to a certain extend. Between the muphy's and the MS it will remove most wax build ups and human oil build ups.And the LO will give a very minor "refinishing" to any places that the finish is worn through.
I remember this gentleman was talking about first finding out if it was a varnish or a poly on the floor. Seems if it was a varnish then that was the go ahead to use his procedure, but not on a poly, hence my thoughts on the laquer thinner.
If I ever see him again I'll have to quiz him and report back here.

I like the part about "the process" and they don't say anything at all. Probably a clean and scren and a wax buff.
Well at least it shows no suckers in NY yet.
