I would like to put a niche into a curved wall. However, all the niches I see in catalogs are for flat walls. Does anyone know a source where I could order a niche to fit against a curved wall? Or any other helpful suggestions on this topic?

Try http://www.outwater.com/ I looked and didnt see any for curved walls, but I didnt look all that long.
The problem is that the radius may not be close enough to yours to make it work.
You could have one built, or depending on your skills make one yourself.
If you need more just ask, maybe someone else will have an idea where you can get one with a radius, I still see a problem in the difference in radii.

What is the radius of your wall?
How big do you want the niche to be, both width, depth abd height?
Is this to be paint grade, or furniture grade stain quality.
Carvings? Style of room?

As Doug said it would probably be next to impossible to find a prefab as the manufacturer would have so many different curvatures to deal with.
I have a flat wall and I want a curve recessed niche. I am thinking of 1/4" DW or flexible plywood.
I know a guy who could do it here but his fee is way up there in the clouds for something like this.
I was thinking of the Fypon products. They have several niches and with a large enough radius in the wall, one could be fitted to it with site modification. The wider the niche, the harder to disguise it though.
I'm in agreement that nobody is going to be stocking something like this.

Hey Rellens,
I agree with all the other posts on this thread about needing to know the specifics of the curve and recessed niche.
However having done plenty of curved and all sorts of funky walls I did think of two different approaches that used individually or together may help you out.
First I am assuming that this is a "radius" wall as opposed to a slanted out of plum wall, or an "arched" wall where the radius runs vertically for all or a portion of the height of the wall.
Secondly I am assuming this is an "inside" curve, or that you will be installing the niche on the inside radius of the curve as opposed to installing it on an "outside" radius.
SOOO--- how about connecting a chord across the radius. In other words have a "flat" spot across the inside radius that will then "fit" or meet up with the niche where all the joints come out correctly. This would all be predicated on the visual impact of this and whether the archi and or customer would go for this approach. Another technique which may work would be to use some type of deep trim to make the niche "match" to the wall. Depending on the radius of the wall and the size of the niche, this could be made from anything from drywall to crown molding. Again this would all be dependent on the specifics of the wall and niche, and to your customer's responses to this.
To summarize we would need more info to be of more help. What are the specific dimensions of the wall? What type of surface material? What are the dimensions and type of material and detailing with the niche? etc.......
Without this info there are just too many variables to be able to figure out where to look for a source, or brainstorm up some "field modification" to wall and or niche to be of much help.
Hope you got some good money on your bid for this one!!
