Any structural sesmic stories from the Seattle area, or success stories?
Got back to Seattle from So. Cal. today, thought I’d see some sesmic threads here. Much of the suspended ceiling and light fixtures fell where I work, and couldn’t get to the net (too cheap to have a connection at home) ’cause the building was yellow tagged (no structural damage, lots of 12″ by 12″ box beam cross bracing installed a few years back). Was at a conference sponsored evening at Disneyland Wednesday (no-lines!), wife wouldn’t go on any rides after her sesmic ride last week. Oldest son thought it was only a 3 Richter as he was in a new 16+ story building in Bellevue that is on shock absorbers, the designers did a good job there.
