Well, I’m not sure how Cadioli does it down here, what with driving on the wrong side of the road. Had a car in Melbourne and I was terrified the whole week I was there, anytime I was behind the wheel (I’m sure everyone else was equally terrified). Got to Sydney and decided the hell with cars and learned the real value of taxis. Beautiful city and harbor. Opera house was great too, even took in a show the other night; “Carmina Burana”.
Great bunch of folks down here, very friendly, very easy to get along with. Had to (of course) go into a few tool stores and such; nothing too out of the ordinary other than the 220 volts everyone is running everything with.
Headed over to New Zealand tomorrow to get a taste of that, too; should be great. Gotta’ go, the VB is gettin’ warm…..

VB would be vibratory bed ?...damn.. another cryptic abbreviation.....
*Sam, you lucky dog!Have a great time..
*Did you take an interpreter with you?
*my husband would give anything for a VB - can't get it over here - i have to say that is one of the best beers i have ever tasted - see if you can smuggle in a case for us? - we'll pay for shipping!!
*If you pay the shipping and you've asked him to smuggle a case for you does that mean you're paying his airfare back to the US?Gabe
*Sam,Have a great time.Gabe
*puddinsmama, If your talking about Victoria Brown Ale, I've seen it in Canada. Now if it were XXXX from Queensland "now thats a beer".Good on ya
*vb is victoria bitter - now if they have that in canada somebody please let us know - we could be to the border in under 5 hours - pick up a few cases & head on back - i'm not going to mention the airfare thing to the hub - he probably would pay it for a vb
*I believe the only place it's eported to is the UK, and there it's called Victoria Beer. Same stuff, but when exporting they can't legally call it a bitter since it's actually a lager.
*Oh no! Politically correct beer? The world is changed forever!
*That's the beer whose advertising slogan is'Aussies wouldn't give a XXXX for any other beer'Still, I suppose that passes for couth in Queensland!
*If you drink that stuff, you obviously have no taste...still...if you are desperate, I'll send you a carton ( you pay the freight )
*Sam,I was checking to see if you made it through the big storm that ripped sydney up. Hope you stayed out of that, mate.MD
*'Dog, Missed that storm by about a week and a half, watched that aftermath on the news though and it looked pretty bad. Jim, lucky enough, we've got friends down here to interpret..Went out on the Great barrier reef yesterday and snorkled, it was great. Couldn't believe the size of the clams; all of them were about 2' across, didn't even know something like that existed. We're out on Brampton Is. right now and it's hotter than hell and really humid; good thing there is plenty of water (and beer) all around. Don't know about smuggling any VB back into the states, at least not in the quantities required to satisfy everyone in the tavern. And yes, XXXX is tasty too; in the interests of research, I've been sampling every beer that I can lay my thirsty hands on. Bear in mind this is painful- but research beckons. Much to our dismay, we're headed back on the 11th but it's been great all the same. Definitly would come back here again. Too much to see in 3 1/2 weeks.... G' day Mates..... Sam
