Nolla Cabin, micro cabin, design and modifications

We have 3 acres of land (Northern Wisconsin) that I want to build a quick, simple structure to use until we can build a permanent cabin in the future. There is a cabin called Nolla: http://robinfalck.com/nolla
that seems very appealing.
I was hoping for a discussion on micro cabins and design ideas here in general with Nolla as a springboard for ideas.
The wood is Finnish Kerto LVL (Kerto LVL is produced from 3 mm thick, rotary-peeled softwood veneers that are glued together to form a continuous billet.)
What US wood product would you use to build something like this?
What would you use to protect the exterior from the elements?
Any modifications you would consider to the design?
What do you think is the span between the vertical a frames?
What is the simplest way to insulate the structure for winter use with temperatures below freezing? Sheet foam on the outside? zip sheets?
How would you deal with condensation?
And, what is the simplest most cost effective heat source without 110v power?
Thanks!

I've built a lot of A-frames and would say that an A-frame would be the last thing I would build as a cabin, especially a small A-frame like this. They look cool but they live small, those sloping walls really limit your ability to use regular furniture and to walk around. In one the size you're looking at a second floor is almost impossible and would require a ladder and moving around on your knees. I would say there is little to no savings with one either.
