Can you repaint the insert, or maybe strip the paint off of it? Or make one from plywood, or melamine?
*Local, I had the same problem with the freud blades on my Ryobi TS. I painted the table insert Bright Yellow. It works well for me. I also paint my plywood zero clearance inserts now. It sure helps you know where that blade is.
*Yea BD Tim has got an good idea, have you made an insert outta scrap oak or maple. youll get better cuts from a insert that has zero clearance
