Just got this gun (a Hitachi coil framer for those who don’t have model #s memorized). Which brand(s) of nails work best for you? I believe Senco is what I can get locally, and might end up ordering from nailzone or elsewhere to get started. Any recs?

I get my 3-1/4" .131's from Lowes. I'll try to check the brand tonight. The ringshanks I order from ABC and they were actually Hitachi brand. Case of 2-3/8" .113 rings were around $50. IIRC the framing nails were around $35/case (less nails per case though).
And if nothing else, this reply will keep your question on the top of the pile until one of the pro's comes along.

The Lowes framing nails were Fas'ners Unlimited. Case of 2500.
The Hitachi ring shanks from ABC were for a case of 5k (so were cheaper than the framing nails).

The Lowes near me has Fas'ners Unlimited brites. And they work fine for my use. Tried the local yard to see if I could find some ringshanks. The guy there first tried to sell me stick nails. After I explained that it was a coil nailer, he said, 'oh yeah, you can use these' and grabbed a handful of loose nails. I kid you not.
So ordering over the net might be your best bet. If Nailzone works well for you, let me know.
If I want nails that are not stock here, ordering them via internet makes sense. I have ordered from nailzone. If I special order at the lumberyard they'll just do the same and charge me more for shipping and handling. We're in a remote location so that's how it goes. The stock items the bring in on their truck are well priced.
If you have an ABC in your area, they can order the ring shanks. Mine didn't charge any s/h, took about 3 days for them to get it in. IIRC, the store said it isn't something they ordinarily stock, but is a normal item for ABC, so they were able to get it in as part of their regular order.

[edit] Just happen to keep painfully good records on some stuff. The ABC receipt:
From ABC #283Whse
Nail 2-3/8"x.113 Wire Coil RG 5M/Bx5400512211 1bx subtotal was $46.04.

Thanks John,Looks like they've got a store about 7 miles from me. I'll give them a call and see if they can get those in easily. Really appreciate the info.Funny thing is that it was another outfit called ABC where the salesguy suggested that I could fill up the coil nailer with a handful of loose nails. Best,
Steve
He probably works at Home Depot now.

Yeah, quite possibly. It was right around the time of a thread on here about how the local yards are so much better than the box stores. So I had a good chuckle over the reverse turn of events.
David, I like Hitachi's own nails best. They're no more expensive than the off brands and I never have issues with the coil nailers jamming. I actually pay about $10/box less for the Hitachi brand nails through my tool guy than I would if I walked into a Big Box store and bought a box of Grip-Rite or something.
I'm using Hitachi nails even though the supplier said it didn't really matter ;o)
