New glasses – 3 weeks old.
One side needed to be re done. Other side was fine.
Costco says “check it with your doc and we will re do it free.
i did (the one eye that was off).
Costco then said ok , we will redo both sides.
i said hey – one side is fine don’t mess with it.
they said -no our lab only does both sides so we re do the good side too.
seems to me another chance of erro and more work – whats that about?

Wain,
I worked in a one hour glasses place in college. There are a number of reasons to do this. If they actually have to grind new lenses (for example for bifocals) there are a number of different 'base curves' for the lens blanks they can start with to make the same prescription. If you don't have the same type in both eyes, it can bother some people. If the lenses have tint in them, it is tough to match the tints between lenses done on different days, so it may be easier and cheaper time wise to redo both. There are a lot of reasons to remake both, these are only a couple.

Dennis
