Seems there’s always a few around here who know whatever needs knowin’ . . .
I have a 6-burner gas stove. The burners are 2-stage — a little one in the middle for low heat, and the regular one around the edge for the regular high flame. The spark igniter on that burner was broken, so I replaced it. I didn’t make any other changes or adjustments to the burner or valve. But now, the center burner acts like it’s either getting too much gas, or not enough air — huge, yellow flame.
Can’t see anything to adjust except for the air intake has an adjustable cover to let more/less air in, and adjusting it makes no difference.
Any thoughts?

Everything fits, until you put glue on it.

Is it possible to reinstall the burner "screen" in more than one position? Or is it fixed. If fixed, no ideas......
If readily movable, try a different position/rotation.
Mine will drop into the stove top in several different positions, they look identical/symetrical but they perform differently depending on rotation, don't know why.
Grasping at straws for you......

The burner is removeable, but the center burner cover just drops in -- it's not dependent on any particular orientation.
I'll mebbee take a pic or two when I get home.Mike HennessyPittsburgh, PAEverything fits, until you put glue on it.
Try jiggling that burner cover. i had a similar burner cover issue and discovered it was a bit off center after the stove was cleaned.
Have you tried cleaning the orifices of the offending burner?
Thanks, all.
Here's some pics of what I've got:

Here's a shot of the burner body, sans flame rings. The thin piping you can see is the gas source for the center part of the burner. I assume there's an orifice in the brass part -- I'll break it down and see if I can clean it.

Get out the marshmallows!
Well, I tried cleaning the orifice. It wasn't dirty -- it was missing!
It's just a tiny, stamped metal "hat" that fits inside that brass housing, and it must've fallen out while I was installing the igniter.
Mystery solved!

Glad you figured it out!
That flame thrower looks nice......maybe set one least-used burner up to terrify unwanted visitors - just in case......
And no, mine does not look like that when I don't get the screen thingy back on in the right position!
JimNever underestimate the value of a sharp pencil or good light.
I was thinking of leaving it that way for heating up the wok really fast.
That, or preheating for welding. ;-)Mike HennessyPittsburgh, PAEverything fits, until you put glue on it.

I hate it when my orifice drops out. Makes me walk funny all day long.
