Hi.
I have a couple of bags of plaster (they’re large), one is for the finish coat and one for the scratch coat. They’re over 30 years old or more I figure. When I reach in the bags they are still powdery and soft and i don’t feel any clumps of hardened stuff. I do meet some resistance deeper in but it just crumbles into powder if I force it. Can I still use this stuff? The house is of the old plaster and lath variety-built in 1932 philadelphia.
Let me know what you all think.
Thanks

Old Plaster
That old and not totally hard? Must be a very dry environment. The elements in the plaster are millenia old, so I'd guess they're still good if still powdery.
If all else fails just build a big fire and re-roast the stuff.
Try it
Simply mix up a small amount and see if it gets hard.
