With the crazy price hikes in natural gas I am adding foam insulation to the outside of my home this spring. My house has an old stucco finish so my question is do I have to strip the house down to the sheathing and then insulate or can any of the layers be left on? If any of the layers can be left on would this add any measurable R-value or benefits?
