I have a client that has built a 2 story timberframe house with the living room wall having full floor to roof height. Above the first floor girder there have been double-hung installed.
The client needs the hardware to place on each sash that will allow the use of a long pole with a hook on the end to be able to open/close the sash for ventilation.
I remember the teacher in the old grade school where I went to school when I was a “pup”, using a brass hook on a pole to hook into a ring on the upper sash and adjust the opening to allow the hot air out of the room.
I have checked Woodworker’s Supply, White Chapel, Rockler’s, Renovators, Rejuvination, and still have no source.
Other thoughts and suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks………………………Iron Helix

I had to replace the sash chain in many of my old windows and found an old hardware store (with a web site) in the Philly area that carries all sorts of old hardware supplies. I just checked their web site and they carry the hook that you describe. I think they do mail order as well. It is a really fun store. Once of those hardware stores that has isles about 2 ft wide and about 3 of each item in stock.
