I know that there are alot of super E-s out there but one of the most used little shortcuts I use is the Ctrl-n When your trying to open another page with out losing the original just have your curser on the original page and press ctrl-n.

Program ? hmmmm you do know I am at the bottom of the E ladder.
But I was using IE and that worked great, and now I'm using Mozilla foxfire? on a XP home Notebook.
If you switch to FireFox or Mozilla, you can use cntl-enter and get a TABBED window. Far better than more instances of IE, and more secure too.

2 Things Mike, once you get done with this one you are no longer a Amateur home remodeler.
And I was thinking you said cont-enter but close is still appreciated.
so far so good with the foxfire, takes a little getting used to have to enlarge the screen size, control scroll up or down with the mouse or cont + or-. some times I would like to top or bottom to page view and it's not there just hold arrow direction. Kinda slow any spify trick?
Clay,Hopefully you won't miss the popup ads :-)Mike K

Sorry, it is cntl+enter for clicking on a link, or typing in an URL in the address bar.Besides the Goggle tool bar, there is a goggle desk bar - I love it, and it works regardless of browser.Don't know why the goggle tool bar doesn't work in FireFox, but I haven't tried it.
Under Edit, Preferences, Navigator, Then Tabed Browsing. You have several options about how to handle the tabing.I use control-click LOTS and LOTS of times to open links in tabs. One common usage is when some one posts a message with a number of pixs. Instead of opening it in the same window then going back and opening the next, etc, etc.
Control-N brings up a new blank page.
Or you could just right-click on a link, and hit the 'open in a new page'.
Unless you're the lead dog, the view just never changes.
Firefox seems great, but the Google Toolbar will not work. I'd rather have IE with the Google toolbar, then Firefox without....

You are trying to use the wrong google bar.http://googlebar.mozdev.org/
There are a number of Moz and Firefox addons and extensions. Here is the one for a Google Bar.http://googlebar.mozdev.org/Here is a list many other projects. Also check the "adamonded and inactive" some of them are not that inactive.http://www.mozdev.org/projects/active.htmlNote- You need to check which ones work on work on Mozilla and which on Firefox and which versions. However, many of them are very specialized and not usefull for the average person. Here is a PCMag article on 15 popular addons.http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1759,1758849,00.aspAnd here are add-ons from the mozilla site for Firefox and one for Mozilla.https://addons.update.mozilla.org/?application=firefox
https://addons.update.mozilla.org/extensions/?os=Windows&application=mozillaAnd for those talking bout tab browsing check this out to give you more options.https://addons.update.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?application=firefox&version=1.0&os=Windows&id=158
Thanx alot Bill....it works great! ;-)View Image
If you have a mouse with a scroll button, you can open links in new tabs just by clicking that. No ctrl needed. As an extension, if you want to speed yourself up, try Mouse gestures. You can set it up to do a multitude of things without ever having to move your hand off the mouse.
