Just like to share my day with y’all…sorry if this is more appropriate in the Tavern, but Dieselpig’s thread about the 6″ out-of-square thing made me think:
We started, us three, this AM by finishing setting beams and nailing ceiling joists. One guy set up scaffolding while I and my other helper cut commons for the three ridges (Main hip w/ 2 gable offsets, 2 valleys [one falsed-in], all 7/12, 2300 SF total under roof).
Got all three ridges set before lunch. After lunch set all fill-in commons, cut and measured all hips/valley, set those, and my two guys had me all-out to cut all the jacks while they stacked them…got every rafter on except valley fills. Both helpers stayed an hour late, and one went with me down the street to punchout some last minute things on another house.
Tomorrow we three plan to have all straps, Go-Bolts, and CJ clips on, along with having all the wall sheathing on, at least half the roof decked and nailed off, and some collar ties and a vaulted ceiling done.
We started this house Monday, BTW.
Just thought I’d share some good news with everyone since this (by my schedule) 11-day house is on track to take us 7 days–I also promised the help a healthy bonus when this occurs, and they don’t know it, but I’m giving them both 4th of July off as a paid holiday.
Be productive LOL.

Well, there have been rumors that occasionally something goes well. Now we know where it happened.
Good for you. I hope you get 'er done and enjoy your holiday. (My helper called me at 6:30 am and told me I'm on my own again today. He's not feeling good. So today I guess I'll play lawyer and watch a tree crew take down a tree on my property.)

Glad to hear things are going well.
Yesterday I was informed that I'm doing such a good job that I get to take Monday off unpaid.
Heck, at least I get a 3.5 day weekend out of it. I'll have to work Saturday morning, as I'm way behind.
Dang Boss, no pay for Monday? Sorry bout that.
My guys are flying through this house so quickly and doing such a tight job that I'm giving them both Tuesday off, with pay.

Heck, I got all kinds of work lined up for this weekend. Plan drawing, dirt moving, mowing, and baling straw. So having Monday off is actually a blessing to some degree.

This is the same co. that's sending your job overseas?
Boy, do they know how to make a fella feel wanted.

I had that yesterday.
I'm building a deck. I figured 2 guys about 2 days to frame it.
Well, the friend I asked to give me a hand brought his 18 y.o. son to help, so we pretty much finished the framing in 1 day. Monday I've got to finish putting in a row of blocking, and then I can start the decking.
It's nice when something goes right, isn't it.
