I would like to hear opinions on anyones’ experience with online CA exam prep companies/ services (actual experiences). [A little backstory: I rec’d a date in two weeks and rather than postpone it and pursue more traditional forms of prep I’m considering improving my readiness through the online avenue but am skeptical of the medium and integrity of companies.]
Thanks for your feedback and opinions.

I used one of the prep companies in '03 and got a humongeous pile of study material which was mostly useful for the legal information. The rest was just so-so, IMO.
I took the computer exam and found most of it to be pretty straightforward. I got about half of my answers from my study material and the other half from my 30+ years as an engineer working closely with the construction trades at power plants. (I learned a lot from those guys and some of them learned a lot more about the engineering part of the job than they really wanted to know. - lol)
I really like finding out the results within minutes of finishing the exam, but didn't like not knowing which law questions I had gotten wrong. For some reason, they can't (won't?) tell you so you can look up the right answer.
Good Luck!!

I used one of those testing services back in 1986 or so, ("contractor's testing service" I believe). They had something like 1000 law questions and answers and something like 1200 trade questions with answers. It was all multiple choice so if you read through them just prior to the test you could easily whip through the exam without even reading and understanding the questions. Just recognize the general content of the answer or even it's place. I don't remember more than one or two things I supposedly learned during the course of all that. Something about "notice of responsibility" to get your money from clients. That was all I was really interested in I guess, he, heh!
