Operable skylights that can be installed above 12 feet
We are in the design process for an addition/remodel and want to spec several operable (venting) skylights that will be installed at heights greater than 12 feet above the walking surface immediately below them. To get them through the permitting process, the skylights must meet the CBC (California Building Code), which means they must be certified by the ICC (International Code Council). The permit reviewers won’t accept certification by just AAmA/WDMA. Does any one know of operable skylights that have been certified by the ICC? Ideally, both 2’x2′ and 2’x4′ models, and really ideally glass, but we’d accept acrylic domes if necessary.

....about ICC certification.
Velux has electrically operated skylights - work with a remote control similar to a TV remote. And have a rain sensor which will close the skylight automatically when water is detected by a sensor on the face of the window frame.
I'd try their website for certifications.

Velux and ICC certification
Yes, Velux has some great skylights - they were our first choice. But they have made the business decision not to certify under ICC, and have done it by WDMA. So they are not acceptable for installation over 12', at least in a city that holds to the CBC.
