Anyone do it recently?
What kind of paint did you use and how did you prep it…………..
Have a friend who’s a great painter and has almost no work on his plate………..and I’d gladly pay him, but I think pride is in the way……………….so I guess I have to paint it myself.

Been three of four years ago.......
Prep was fairly standard -- scrape and brush the loose stuff, sand the bare spots and edges, make sure it's all clean.
My choice of paint was based on what would leave the fewest brush and roller marks, even though it was latex. Don't remember specifics, but I got it from Duron, and followed their guy's advice.
Pressure wash and latex (DW painted it and wont use oil)
SW makes a paint specifically for aluminum siding.
Used it and was good stuff. No primer needed.
Of course you already know preparation is the key. Last one I did quite a while ago I washed and rinsed the siding on a single story
then although it sounds compulsive I quickly ran an orbital sander across it. Took little time at all. Just to scuff it up a bit to give some teeth for the paint.
