Few people understand it. Nobody agrees what it is, how to learn about it, or who's responsible for it. It has never been more important

HVLP is a good way to go for efficiency and minimizing overspray as well as less blow-back from inside corners.
Do you have enough CFM from that compressor to supply HVLP? You want compressor output greater than what the gun consumes so it won't be running constantly to try to keep up.
You can get some good info (and prices) from this website:

Another good source is http://www.homesteadfinishing.com, Jeff Jewett's company. He walked me through this exact question.
Bruce is right, the key is CFM rather than tank or motor size. Conversion guns need anywhere from 6 to 16 CFM, depending on the gun. I ended up with an Asturomec that needs 7 - 10 CFM depending on the tip.
Took me a little while to get the application approach dialed in (fan, volume, speed of pass, overlap) but in the end the kitchen cabinets turned out awesome.
I just looked on the tank and it said 5.5 scfm at 90psi
