Oh yeah they wanted white paint.seems like it would take a lot of cleaning, unless maybe sealed right I dunno I’m not a pro painter, but white painted pine floors is the verdict. Thanks……RTC

I'm a homeowner (36 years in the house) with four bedrooms, a hall, and kitchen with painted pine floors. Over the years we have found that two coats of Ben Moore oil based interior/exterior floor paint holds up really well. However, it is really important to watch the humidity and let each coat dry thoroughly. Particularly wiith humidity , the first coat might seem dry enough after 24 hours for the second coat, but it is not. Three days is better. And we usually let the second coat dry for a week or two before putting things on it.
Last year I tried the Bennie Moore Industrial Coatings two part latex epoxy floor paint. It is more expensive and only comes in gallons, but it dries faster and seems like really good stuff ( good adhesioin and not brittle). Don't have long term data on its durability yet.

SYP is very resinous. You'll have to accomodate for that by a solvent wash. SYP is not known for holding paint very well. Here is an article about painting pressure treated wood, but it also mentions that untreated SYP is hard to hold paint.

What do you use as a solvent? I know that denatured alchohol works well to remove pine sap. Would that be a good choice?

That or maybe acetone. Acetone is very flamable and I don't think it's very healthy to be around though, but it is strong.
