A neighbor had his deck power washed by a local painting contractor. The paint, or solid color stain, was flaking off.
The contractor used a lager Honda Power washer, im guessing at least 3000psi. I noticed they used a “wirlybird” nozzle. It the kind that spins a 0 degree tip around very fast. They spend several hours trying to get it clean. The neighbor was out there the next day re-painting it.
I am wondering if he should have waited longer as im sure water was forced into the wood. The deck is PT, using CCA.
Will he have any long term problems with the paint sticking?

Depends.
First of all I would never paint an exposed deck. In general won't last.
Now if he used a solid color stain then it might. Shwerwin Williams Deckscape acrylic solid color stain states that it can go on damp wood and can be used right after cleaning if the surface does not have standing water.
I did that about 4 months ago. PW one day and the next moring, after waiting for the dew to dry, used the SW and it still looks good.
