Has anybody painted aluminum clad windows? Was planning to bite the bullet on higher quality windows for my house, but couldn’t resist a ridiculous closeout price at HD for some Jeldwen Builders (Caradco) clad double-hungs ($49-$59 each!). Plan on using these (I bought 6) on the less visible side of the house, then better quality elsewhere. Of course those will be clad in my desired color, but these cheapos are white, and I will want to match them.
Would I need to re-prime the glossy surface? Anybody done this?

yep
Rough them up a bit with a sander for teeth and use the same paint as on aluminum siding.
I always used a SherwinWilliams prouct but others have spoken well of BenjaminMoore.
