It seems to me that even the best paint is just not that durable of a product.
You can go all out, hocus pocus it – sand, clean, prime – and the fungus (checking, etc) you eliminate starts again on the top. The best exterior paint job seems to only last 8 years.
Does the thought ever come to mind that it might be better to regard it as a “bad haircut” and just get some new paint on?
