Getting differing opinions on this (so why not get a few more?)
First time using Azek for trim boards and now I need to paint them. I’ve sanded the surface thoroughly to remove the gloss and give the surface some tooth. I’ve also washed them to remove any residual dust, dirt, or oils. Can I just put the paint on, or do I need to prime first? There’s enough trim to make priming a chore, otherwise I’d do it just to be on the safe side. But others say Azek, with proper surface prep, makes an ideal surface for paint. Using BenMoore exterior latex. Please weigh in…

primer
the Azek does not ned to be primed , we always paint it and use a good latex paint , years later it looks great ! We paint to hide staiattrnless trim screws and Pvc trim tends to attract dirt like static electricity
I've used quite a bit of Azek and like it best painted if there's time and budget. I use Sherwin Williams Duration.
Paint yes, primer no. I agree with both responses above.
