If the weather ever breaks, I’ll be hanging and painting a whole lot of T1-11 siding. I love how fast it goes up, hate how tough it is to get complete paint coverage.
Anyone have any great ideas how to get solid coverage, “gotta use this new tool” ideas or anything that will remove the dread of this job?
I’m thinking about renting a sprayer, but have visions of overspray and neighbors cars.
your thoughts?

Spray. Invest in tarps.
You can brush the paint and primer on. If you have a lot of time and wish to develop a good grip and forearm.
You can brush or use a special foam roller and cover for the grooves. Cover the flats with standard roller with a medium nap cover. You could but once you spray the roller rig is going to get mighty lonely. I see painters who seldom touch rollers any more.
And don't forget that even if you use a brush and/or roller your still going to have to tarp stuff. Rollers, especially when you get tired and try to go faster with a wetter roller, can produce droplets, mist and fallout that gives an airless sprayer a run for its money.
Ive asked neighbors and clients if they would be willing to move their cars because I was afraid of misting them, and they generally jump, and thank you at the occasion.
Oil has a long airtime on breezy days, I would just try to pick a day when its fairly calm. If you can hang the plastic, and its not pulling off.... its probably ok.
