Pastic condenser pad installation puzzle
I was prepared to mix and pour concrete pads with anchor bolts for the two LG condensers being shipped for my mini-split system. The LG instructions call for concrete pads, but the delivery truck brought me two plastic ones, branded ” THERMO EQUIPMENT PAD”. If I set the platic pads on firm, level ground, it looks like I’m expecting gravity to do the work and hold the unit in place. Is that right?

I've never seen a condenser unit bolted down.
Thanks!
Come to south Florida. Code requires them to be bolted down so the only plastric pads oyu see are where a permit wasn't pulled.

It's easy for us to forget that local knowledge is just local. Here in So. Calif. we've got earthquakes but not hurricanes. Oh, and of course fires. Our fire codes are very strict.
You can use a plastic pad in Florida but the pad needs an anchor on both sides. Then the condenser gets bolted to the pad.
Our old condenser sat for about 10 years on two (very un-level) concrete blocks, before I built a (leveled) treated wood frame under it. The new unit, installed by a (more) reputable dealer, has sat the past 15 years on a pre-cast concrete pad with no hold-down bolts, though at least it's level.
