Hello, we have a problem with our paver walkway. There is a drainage line running under it, put in by the previous owners, and it has caused the walkway to heave above the line. This creates a tripping hazard and we need to lift the pavers for several rows on either side to try and resolve this. We thought that using a non porous underlayment then sand would allow us to create a gentle slope to resolve the problem. Reading some of the posts here I see that cloth underlayment is frowned upon. Does anyone have an alternate solution for this problem? Thank you.

It may be that the rest of the pavers have settled. If so, all you really need to do is remove enough base material above the drain and under the pavers to get back to level.
If the drain line is really heaving up from frost, you have more problems to solve.
Thank you, that makes sense. I'll give that a try.
Make sure you pack down the base before you put the pavers back.
