I’m tired of pulling out 75′ of hose every time i want to wash my truck, so i’m thinking of running some pex out to the side of my garage.
my questions are what size for about a 60′ run and having never used pex before what tools do i need? i’m thinking about using shark bite fittings,am i correct? thanks fred.

Will the line be buried at any point?
Is there danger of freezing?
1/2" pex will deliver about 7gal/min at 50 PSI over that distance, so that's more than enough to wash your truck.
Any approved, listed fittings will work. Sharkbites cost a little more, but you shouldn't need many fittings. You should be able to buy a 100' roll of PEX and eliminate any need for couplings.
Pex shouldn't be exposed to sunlight as it's not UV stable, so be sure to figure for a copper cut over if you need run the supply on the exterior. You can get an inexpensive well made crimper from pexcrimper.com if you want to go that route.
