Thanks David. A while back I had been wondering what had come of that experiment, but couldn't recall the name. Actually considered looking into buying there.
I don't recall it being designed as vacation homes. Or is that one of the evolutionary effects?

it's an amazing concept that works great when executed properly. There are a few planned communities around here as well that haven't quite done as well. But that place looks beautiful.

"there's enough for everyone"
There have been positive and negative comments to Seaside and the whole 'New Urbanism' movement over the years. Nice buildings and clean communities, but also expensive and smacking of exclusiveness. Other knocks are 'Disney-esque,' fake, wasteful and restrictive. Kind of like living in a real version of the Truman Show.
