Forgive me, but I gotta do this...
Take some of your naitive soil and rub a couple of good handfulls into your USB ketborad.
Then stand on it to pack it in good.
Hit the ENTER key to provide the soils load bearing capacity you have.
Once your computer knows this, it is all easy.

your building code should have some design assumptions for different soils in CT...
also, your BI may know what the local bearing capacity is for your soils

Thanks Mike... I was considering the Bldg Dept, I just hate going in asking questions (my own insecurity I suppose). I'll probably just err on the side of oversized.
