I’ve been hired to complete on a remodel that was Red Tagged about a year ago. During the downtime, about a zillion pigeons used the third floor as a roost. The amount of poop is frightening. The interior walls are unsheathed, old boards need to be demo’d from the ceiling(There be poop up there)and the floor will need new underlayment. The problems- how to clean this mess with the least health hazard for my employees, and if we steam clean, how to avoid damage to the finished Ist floor? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

pigeon poop can be deadly.... and you are opening yourself up to suit...
the viruses that live in pigeon poop can kill...investigate this thoroughly before you commence... you may have an unenforceable contract due to the health hazard..
.. i would treat this like airborne asbestos.. and require the owner to bring in an abatement company before your crew contaminates themselves and the site...
*Like Mike sed!
*This reminds me of a crane accident that happened in Manhattan years ago. They were taking down an old theater marquee, basically a neon sign maybe a couple feet thick and a few feet wide by a few stories tall. The marquee, crane and all, fell flat as they swung it away from the building. Somebody vastly underestimated the weight of pigeon crap inside. Fortunately, no serious injuries.-- J.S.
*Well now! Thanks, one and all, for the warning. Abatement it shall be.
*Yup! Jeff
