where I live in Ny. having a good pressure depends on the water supply, weither city or in the country a well.
I live in the country, and my well is 100′ deep. I have a 1/2hp submerseable pump,my feed line to my house is about 1″ or
11/2″ . It then goes to my holding tank which is set for 40psi. in our home we ran 3/4 feed from holding to the water heater, but from that point on I ran 1/2 ” line to the kitchen fixture. then 1/2″to the bathroom with a reducer to 1/4 inch. that way i kept good pressure all around like flushing the bowl when washing dishes i had no intruptions. But that’s what was suggested to me,and met our codes here.

General Discussion - WHAT SIZE COPPER SUPPLY PIPES FOR SEC... ?

it wasn't a reply to using copper, but to a person who posted question about the best way to get plenty of water to their 2nd floor, without losing pressure when some else where in house uses some at same time. why do you ask?
>> why do you ask?Because it looks like you're answering a question nobody asked. If you're responding to a specific post on this forum, it's much more effective to click on the Reply button at the bottom of the post than it is to click on the Post New link and start a new discussion. If you're responding to something else, it helps to give some context for your post. As it is, what you posted may be perfectly reasonable, but it's hard to tell since we have no very clear idea of what conversation you're joining. The reason razz asked about the copper pipe thread is that it is displayed whenever anyone uses the Search button near the bottom of the message index frame on the left, and judging from the content of your post, it's at least plausible to think you were responding to that thread.

Yes, what Uncle Dunc said in a nutshell.
I saw by your profile that you were a new poster and considered the fact you weren't aware of the use of the 'reply' tab when responding to another poster's question or comment.
Rather than addressing that line of thought I chose a brief comment to better analyze the scenario.
The poster you are responding to might not get your message without your use of the 'reply' tab which keeps your responses tied to his original thread.
An isolated post on a new thread in this size of a forum very easily gets lost thru the cracks.
Oh ya, Welcome to Breaktime, glad you're here. "Live Free, not Die"
