you could contact LN and see if they have distributors in the UK. Other then that you could modify a stanley 40 or 40 1/4 (scrub plane). Open the mouth a bit more and hone a flat edge as opposed to a radius edge. You wont get the wide open throat window like a butt-mortise plane, and youll have to mark your stopping points to see.
Old tool dealers or ebay might be a start as well. The LN is a replica of a previous makers B-M plane. However im not recalling the name, ive just seen one or two on ebay over the past year
