My 12 year old Delta portable planer doesn’t pull the boards through like it once did. The rollers seem to be made out of a urethane-like material. Is there something i can wipe on them to make them a bit more grippy? or do I have to get new ones?

Try denatured alcohol. Do not use rubbing alcohol because it has traces of oil in it.
I have noticed the portable planers that have rubber feed rollers have a tendency to slip when the temperature is below 40 degrees. I take mine inside the house to warm-up the night before I plan on using it. My other planer has a pair of knurled steel feed rollers and never slips. Good luck.
I think the problem is time. Urethane gets old and hard. Mine finally shattered. I got them re done for 75$ each at a business called precisionroll.
