my daughter has just purchased her first home and we have stripped four layers of wallpaper from her daughter’s bedroom walls . my granddaughter wants to paint the walls. can we just prime the walls first and paint. or is there something else we should do? someone mentioned spraying something onto the walls. we need help.
thanks. lana

Those old plaster walls should be paintable as is. If the surface is pock-marked, you may want to apply a skim coat of plaszter, then prime and paint.
You shouldn't have to prime over the old plaster-type walls in their "original" state.
