PLS 2
I am sure I am not getting full use from my PLS 2, and the PLS website didn’t have much on the many, many ways this widget can Make My Life Better, so I’ll ask the forum…
What are your favorite uses and tricks?
Any way to use it outside? I am looking for some sort of reflector. So far the formica writing disc on my tape seems to work. You can see a faint red line. Paint a tin can black with a white target inside? It works great inside and in shade and in the dark.

Old license plates make excellent reflectors- they're made to reflect lasers so the cops can get your speed. I used to use one with a laser distance measure. Don't know any PLS2 tricks though.

Old license plates...
We just get tabs, so we wear our old plates, but I can get some reflective tape that does the same thing. The ToolBear

In order to increase the use of our PLS 2 outside we use a pair of red lense eye glasses. I purchased them from my tool supplier, they where made for another system . The glasses do increase distance when you use them in sun light. (Atlas Tools Toronto)

Set PLS 2 in fixed position on its back with Laser pointing to ceiling. This way you can line up potlights, smoke detectors, reveals or coffered ceilings without worrying about touching lines. Move ladder or scaffold easily.
When installing a three piece tub surround, I'll plumb in the fixture first, set the pls2 on a tripod in the tub and line up on the center of the fixture, set surround end wall in place, mark location of cross line, remove and drill. Repeat for tub faucet. Works great, impresses the boys and homeowners.

I've mentioned this in other threads:
Use it to make bright red lines on top of wet thinset. Spread it and lay tile with no worry about covering over your lines.
