Intalling a new bath faucet. The new tailpiece is plastic. My LDR plumbers putty says NOT for plastic. Is there a type for plastic?

The pipe that connects the sink's tailpiece to the "P" trap, is installed DRY. First the connector nut is slid up the sink's tailpiece, then the clear seal (included with the connector pipe). There is a similar seal included with the "P" trap. If you are not installing a new trap, change the seal anyway (< 0.20¢).
The connecting pipe from the sink's tailpiece need not be over torqued, it doesn't have to overcome any pressure, like a supply line does.
Practice...'till you can do it right the first time.
