I was doing a repair on a waterline yesterday and was wondering about glueing up pvc pipe. It doesn’t say on the instructions whether to let the primer dry before you apply the glue, or apply glue as fast as you can to still wet primer. I was working along when someone said that I should let the primer dry first, and I had never heard that, so was wondering if someone here could settle the question.
In this particular case the 2″ line developed a leak at the first 90 out of the meter, so I added a thrust block after repairs to keep it from popping again.

give the primer a minute to dry.

On mmy can of primer it says to apply the cement will the primer is still wet.
On the can of cement it just says for a better point on PVC to use the primer.
