Looking at a bathroom remodel. Concerned about proper venting. Existing waste line has a vent before and after the Toilet Tee. 1st appears to go into attic. 2nd exits the building 3 inches above grade. Was alarmed to see this. Was this a common practice back in the day or did a hack add it on when there wasn’t enough venting?
Attached is a poor drawing (this laptop doesn’t have my design software) of how the room is plumbed now, and where I need to move the fixtures to.
The existing vent will now be about 5′-6′ from the toilet and I am worried this will not provide enough venting.
As for the shower, I thought of “wet venting” by increasing the diameter of the waste line.
I have easy access below the bathroom, but not above. So my preference would be to not install a new vent through the bathroom ceiling if possible. Any ideas?

You sure that that pipe is a vent and not a connection for an old garden sink or some such?
As I understand it (certainly no expert), wet vents are only legal on grey water drains, and even then you're distances are far to great to be legal. The whole thing needs to be reworked to add proper venting.
Note that this wouldn't require new holes in the roof, as the various vents can all be tied together.
