Can anyone give me some input on hardwood veneers over MDF as opposed to veneer over plywood. Best uses for each etc

I use MDF core for doors and decorative work.
I use veneer core for anything structural. The inner plies of veneer core can be unbalanced on some imported panels. If I can find Columbia Forrest Products in the veneer I need, they are my first choice. Their core is 7 ply poplar and very stable.
