I have been out of the field for awhile so I am not familiar with current product offerings.
Can someone direct me to a better/best pocket door frame manufacturer?

Source control, ventilation, and filtration are the keys to healthy indoor air quality. Dehumidification is important too.

Thanks for mentioning Johnson. Local lumber yards here stock Cox, but Johnson's stuff looks better from what I can see online.I need to replace rollers for a lady who has an old Acme double pocket door. I was surprised to see that Johnson also has replacement rollers for those old ones that are made in USA and much better than the Chinese stuff that Slideco/Primeline offers. If those rollers don't make enough of an improvement for her, I may just tear out the existing track and install a track and ball bearing trolleys kit from Johnson.BruceT
Edit: misread your title. Didn't realise you were looking for frames and not tracks. But I agree with previous poster. Buy the best track you can afford and make your own frame.
take a look at the Hawa brand of sliding door tracks. http://www.hawa.ch/hawa/index.php?L=1
Hafele is a distributor for the Hawa hardware. http://www.hafele.com/us/services/4455.asp
They are very expensive but you probably won't find anything better.
KN Crowder also makes excellent hardware at a reasonable price.

Hawa's nice, but the Johnson I beam is plenty good. For frames, we have done a couple of jobs with parallams, pretty flat and stable and stiff.http://www.tvwsolar.com
We'll have a kid
Or maybe we'll rent one
He's got to be straight
We don't want a bent one
He'll drink his baby brew
From a big brass cup
Someday he may be president
If things loosen up
Thanks everyone.
I appreciate the advice on the HAWA assemblies, but I think I'll go with the Johnson frames.

I have never used a frame already assembled. I get the Johnson pocket door kit and make my own frame, but I am sure that there ready assembled must be similar quality. I have never had a problem with the Johnson hardware and have installed well over a hundred of them.

I believe, in the started a house today thread, hubcap shows a Johnson quick frame that looks pretty interesting.http://www.tvwsolar.com
