My brother and I are up against the clock with finishing 1600 sq. feet of red oak flooring. We’re considering using a squeegee to apply the poly. We read a article in F.H.B. and it seemed okay. I need feedback and suggestions on where or what type of squeegee to use and any trouble you encountered.
Thanks
Roy

Dude, I can float 1600 sq. ft. in about an hour and a half. Use an 8" foam cut in pad on a stick and an 18" 'T' bar and 18" foam applicator.
Pour a line of finish from the container the length of the room, right against the wall, then pull it out with the cut in pad. Pour a 4" wide 'stream' right along the wet edge and then pull that out using the 18" applicator. Angle the 18" applicator at about 45* AWAY from where you started...like a snow plow... leaving a small stream of finish on the outside edge of the applicator. Repeat. It helps if you can have one guy pour and the other pull the float stick.
Study the rooms layout and how you want to make your escape. Oil is forgiving but ya gotta work fast with water.
