Bkg: Our basement slab was not adequately finished. The surface was good, but it wasn’t smoothed and slicked suitable for staining, which had been my first plan. Found new finisher for other slabs, but still had to do something with this one. Considered many options, including epoxy, flake flooring, tile, paint, etc. The current crew suggested polymer overlay, which gives a stamped concrete look on a 3/8″ layer on top of the old slab. Made that choice and took pictures while they worked.
