I’m repairing an in ground wooden frame pool that needs a new 2″x 6″ x 16′ sill plate that supports the top apron, and a 1″ x 6″ x 16′ upper wall sheathing. After 30 years the rot and termites finnally turned the wood in to tissue paper.
My project sends me out into the world of Pressure treated lumber, and the new ACQ and CCA ratings. I wound up getting 2 1″x6″x8′ ACQ for the wall and a 2″x6″x16′ for the sill plate. I checked out a Marine Lumber Co. for CCA and got some managers attitude ending in a potential loss of his certifcation.
What could be the repercussions of using this ACQ lumber if any, and is there a treatment such as “Wolmanizer” that I should use prior to installation?
Work safely
