does anyone see a problem using 2 gauge quad direct burial alum wire for a sub-panel for a swimming pool?

pools have a bunch of very specialized requirments. One of which is an insulated ground wire and most cables don't have that.

Note the requirments are different for above ground and storable pools and you need to read the specifications to tell what is what.

True. NEC section 680.25(B). If the quad is all insulated, it could work.

All of the quad is individually insulated. My pool guy is going to wire the pumps and all into the sub panel, i just have to wire the Sub panel.
You should be good then. Just keep the buried wire at least 5' away from the inside edge of the pool.
