I am rebuilding a front porch. It’s pretty small. 6 X 8 feet. 18 inches high. The exhisiting stucture is resting on concrete or stone blocks. Is this OK to duplicate using PT wood or should I do sonotubes and concrete? If I should do sonsotubes how deep should they be?
I am in Toronto, Canada.

Here in Massachusetts, USA, we need to have our footings 48" deep. I would think yours should be at least that deep, maybe deeper to get below the frost line. Your local code or building inspector can tell you.
If, however, this is only a 6' x 8' porch with no structure above and no inspection is involved, a nice bed of well-drained gravel might work well enough as long as a little movement wouldn't be a big problem.
