It’s been a while, so I have to ask.
Should a porch railing which runs perpendicular from a wall run level, or follow the pitch of the floor? I’m inclined(ha! little pun) to run it back level from the outer rail, which will make it a little lower were it meets the building.
What say?

I like level, but you have to bew careful about codes enforcement sometimes

I usually like level, too, but, assuming the deck isn't pitched too much, I'd go with following the pitch of the deck. That way it shouldn't draw your eye to it at all. Makes construction easier, too, and that's always a good thing.

Depends on the railing style, but generally, making it level makes it a little easier on you - the carpenter. Otherwise, your railing pieces won't fit right as everything really needs to be cut at a slight angle to fit exactly right.
If the porch has a lot of pitch, it might be better not to go level.

Keep it level....most people understand why a porch floor needs to be pitched...when the rail follows the floor it looks as though the whole project has sunk. Just be sure to measure off the high point of the decking when figuring your rail height.
