We all dance to a mysterious tune, intoned in the distance by an invisible piper. - Albert Einstein
Yep. Bought one from a tool store and laid about 1200 sf of prefinished wood this past spring. Never missed. Except that sometimes if I didn't keep adding nails to the magazine, when it shot the second to last nail, then the last one would fall out of the nosepiece. I thought it was a little pricey compared to the manual nailers, but it sure was easy to use. Sometimes I would use my estwing in a tight spot where I didn't want to tyake a chance bouncing the big mallet off the wall (learned that after about the 5th oops).

Rented one about two weeks ago for about 200sf of qswo flooring, which was my first time laying hardwood. Worked very well. Misfired (didn't drive the cleat all the way in) twice when I didn't give it a good rap with the mallet, and jammed a couple times. I ended up making sure the magazine was a minimum of about 1/3 full to try to avoid it. I have nothing to compare it to, but it did the job, so I'm happy with it.
Yeah, mine didn't fully sink the nail a half dozen times, but like you it was caused by not hitting the plunger properly. Or not squeezing the trigger. Or forgetting that the compressor was unplugged and the pressure had dropped. Always operator errors.
