My partner is thinking of buying a Porter Cable 16 guage trim gun, the gas fired/hoseless model. Would appreciate any feedback from those who have used one. Positive, negative or indifferent. Most important would you spend your hard earned dollars on one.
Thanks, Scott

I have one. I use it for puttering around the house with. Odd jobs and so on. I like it but, If I had to use it to make a living with I would say no. It's to awkward to work if your going to trim out house after house. Punch work and odd job stuff yea. Whole house and day to day, I think I would get the paslode as far as cordless go.
*I have both....The new angled Paslode is the best.near the stream,ajI shoot SS nails with the PC to trim exteriors in Cedar.
*I would tell him to stay away from it. Spend the extra $$$ and get the paslode. I had a porter cable for a bit, and it was just not very useable. The whole thing has to be compressed and that takes alot of force to do which can damage the wood. It also was very erratic in its operation. If you compressed it to slowly or jerky, it would not fire.I would recomend buying a paslode, keeping the batteries charged, and cleaning it often.Eric
